In school, we are learning about poems. We all have to do a poet and my group has Carl Sandburg. The poem we are reciting is called Under a Telephone Pole. In a lot of his poems, he uses personification (i.e. Coin, Theme in Yellow, Sphinx, etc). Well, I have to go now. Bye!

Hey!! Remember my CONTEST???? Well, the results are in!!!!!!! Our contestants are Eve, Lilianna*, and My Mom. And in first place is, drum roll please,

EVE!!!

Eve is a wonderful friend who likes poetry, like me. She is in 5th grade this year, which is one year ahead of me. She also has a website, too, called the Gossip Girls Club. It is really cool. Eve's poem was called Stare. It will be posted very soon.

LILIANNA!!!

Lilianna is a great girl who likes poetry. She is in 4th grade, and goes to my school. Her poem did not have a name, because it was so short.

And lastly, in third place is

MOM!!!!!

My mom is a awesome mom. She cares for me and Sam, loves us, and helps us. She is a nurse at Ellis, and she loves her job. She has a website of her own, called Beccas Creations. It is really cool.
Her poem did not have a name, But I call it Daughters and Boogers.

There is a magizine called Storyworks who is doing a poetry contest.You have to do the poem about a lion, a skateboard,ice cream, or a key. I might do the ice cream. Here is my is my draft:
Ice Cream
A delishus snack on a summers day
Drip drip drip it goes if you leave it out to long
Helps hydrate dry throats after you get your tonsills out
In all different flavors like chocolate and vanilla
Yummy toppings, too like hot fudge and sprinkles
Made from dairy.
